Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their artistic goals.
  • Organize and oversee art exhibitions, showcases, and other events to celebrate student work and promote the arts within the school community.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain an organized and well-equipped art studio, ensuring that all materials and supplies are readily available for student use.
  • Stay current with trends and developments in art education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into the curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and art program initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge in the field of art education.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Art Education.
  • Previous experience teaching art at the intermediate or middle school level is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of various artistic techniques, mediums, and art history.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports diverse student needs.
  • Proficiency in using technology and digital tools to enhance art instruction.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A portfolio showcasing personal artwork and student projects is highly desirable.
