Blick Art Materials in Towson, MD is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead the store team, oversee daily operations, inventory, and payroll, and drive exceptional customer service.

The role requires at least one year of retail management or Blick experience, a high school diploma (college preferred), and proficiency with Word and Excel. Hours include evenings and weekends with $18–$20 per hour plus incentives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; college preferred but not required.
• At least 1 year of retail management experience or prior Blick employment.
• Demonstrated superior sales performance and computer literacy (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Increase sales and uphold customer service standards; build customer relationships.
• Train staff and manage the Custom Services desk and production team as needed.
• Partner with the General Manager to engage key artists and art influencers.
• Direct store operations, oversee inventory, and ensure loss prevention compliance.
• Set daily/weekly sales goals and manage schedules and payroll.
• Interview candidates and resolve associate issues in partnership with management.
