Job summary

Tappan is seeking an Artwork Coordinator & Handler to manage the physical handling, logistics, and coordination of artwork across our gallery, warehouse, and exhibitions. This role blends hands-on art handling with systems-based coordination and requires comfort inspecting and packing delicate works while maintaining inventory across digital platforms.

Responsibilities include packing, installation, QC checks, and coordinating with framers, shippers, and artists, plus updating the Shopify

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional art handling experience.
• Strong knowledge of artwork, materials, and care standards.
• Experience performing quality control and condition reporting.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Calendar).
• Proficiency with Photoshop and photo editing.
• Experience with Shopify and Asana (or comparable platforms).
• Experience with inventory management systems and data accuracy across platforms.
• Warehouse or logistics experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle, pack, unpack, install, and transport artwork with care.
• Color correcting and photo editing.
• Perform quality control and document issues.
• Keep inventory synchronized with Shopify across platforms.
• Coordinate launch planning with artists.
• Communicate with framers, shippers, fabricators, and freight partners.
• Assist with setup, installation, and breakdown of exhibitions.
• Provide on-site support during exhibitions and events.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe handling and storage environment.
