Job summary

Cityscape Schools in Dallas is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support a certified teacher with classroom instruction and small group work. The role includes preparing instructional materials and performing routine clerical duties to help the classroom run smoothly.

The aide will reinforce reading, writing, math and social studies, monitor student progress, and assist with testing and behavior management under supervision. Strong communication with teachers and families is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 30 college credit hours or Associates Degree preferred.
• Experience working with youth in an organized setting and some instructional experience in a classroom environment.
• Experience with diverse backgrounds and families is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in presenting instructional materials and academic instruction to individuals or small groups; reinforce instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Report progress regarding student performance and behavior as required; assist instructors with advancement through learning programs.
• Assist with preparing materials, tests, papers and homework; call students/parents to follow up on absences as assigned.
• Maintain records, materials, charts and classroom equipment; operate AV equipment as needed.
