Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Intermittent Art Handler to assist with packing, crating, transportation, and secure installation of the campus art collection. You will safely handle, hang, and mount artworks, move pieces across campus, and prepare works for transport to various locations on and off campus.

This intermittent role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work extended hours including evenings or weekends as needed,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of relevant experience required.
• 1 year of artwork handling in museum/gallery environment required.
• Carpentry/fabrication experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Comfortable with working at height and using lifts and ladders.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle, hang and mount artworks.
• Move artworks across campus.
• Prepare artworks for transportation to on- and off-campus locations.
• Assist with installation of site-specific commissioned works.
