Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks an Intermittent Art Handler to assist with packing, crating, transportation, and secure installation of the campus art collection. Responsibilities include safe handling, hanging artworks, moving pieces across campus, and preparing items for transport to on- and off-campus locations.

The role is intermittent, scheduled as needed, with possible evenings or weekends and a background check.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• 1 year of artwork handling in a museum, gallery, or contemporary art environment.
• Carpentry, construction, or fabrication experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Comfortable working at height with lifts and ladders.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Adherence to safety protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safe handling, hanging and mounting of artworks.
• Move artworks across campus.
• Prepare artworks for transportation to locations on/off campus.
• Work with artists on site-specific commissioned installations.
• Collaborate with campus art collection manager.
