Artmill Group in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced art handler and installer for a full-time role with benefits. You will handle, pack, crate and install artworks for a diverse client base including collectors, museums, and designers, and coordinate with sales for scheduling, transportation, and storage.

The role requires a clean driving record, ability to travel on short notice (evenings/weekends), and the strength to lift 50+ lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years art handling/installation experience.
• Clean driving record; CDL is not required; driving history will be verified.
• Ability to travel on short notice, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to lift and move 50+ lbs.
• Strong customer service and communications skills under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Properly handling artwork: packaging/wrapping for transport
• Crating & packing in shop or on-site
• Driving company trucks & vehicles
• Collaborating with sales team, managers & coworkers for scheduling, transportation & storage
• Providing professional white-glove customer service
• Respond accordingly to art disaster recovery situations

Job description

From incoming artwork and antiques, through fabrication, framing and then the packing and installation, you will be an active part of the art community, and a valued member of our overall group. Our art handling team handles, packs, transports, and installs artwork for a numerous clientele, both locally and nationwide. Through our multiple studios, creative staff and varied clientele (collectors, designers, museums, corporate offices, etc), no day is the same, and there are always interesting projects to handle and install. Must be familiar with multi-hanging devices and able to install on various surfaces. The ability to troubleshoot on the spot and cater to demanding clientele with a level head is a must. A clean driving record and appearance is required. A flexible schedule and a great sense of direction is a plus. This is a full-time position with benefits. Previous installation/art handling experience is a must! Compensation based on experience.
