Job summary

UOVO in Brooklyn is seeking an Art Handler, Inventory Control to support and supervise all incoming and outgoing property at the Brooklyn facility. The role emphasizes meticulous inventory control and accurate documentation to ensure prime care of artwork and valuables.

You will handle shipments, maintain bills of lading and barcodes, perform inventory audits, and coordinate dock activity with the Operations Manager, working knowledge of cloud inventory software and MS Office preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred.
• Experience with cloud-based inventory management software.
• Experience in warehousing, art handling or collections management is a plus.
• Ability to push/pull 150 pounds on a dolly/cart and carry 40 pounds for distances.

Responsibilities

• Proper handling of art objects and packing for safe transport.
• Prepare paperwork including bills of lading, labels and driver logs.
• Receive and release shipments into warehouse facilities.
• Pack artworks for local, national and international transportation.
• Receive, barcode and reconcile all shipments.
• Maintain inventory records and update database with location data.
• Assist with inventory audits and related projects.
• Coordinate dock activity with the Operations Manager; schedule labor as needed.
• Weekend, overtime, and holiday work may be necessary.
