Art Director at MAS (Contract, Remote)

Department: Creative

Reports to: Project Lead

Location: Remote/Onsite

Travel Required: Yes, Domestic

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

An experienced experiential Art Director who will be responsible for the overall event look and feel, as well as build-drawings and other deliverables associated with event design. You will be required to liaise and engage with vendors as necessary to accomplish all of these deliverables and work within the agency's team with both full time and freelance resources as necessary.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Implementing overall look/feel for event
2. Technical drawings for all build elements
3. Site layouts for permitting and production purposes
4. Oversee decor sourcing and provide direction
5. Provide direction to scenic vendor and manage material selection
6. Oversight of build process to ensure quality and accuracy true to drawings
7. Input as requested by producer to maintain consistent look/feel across all elements
8. Onsite artistic direction to ensure accurate concept implementation
9. Current projected design/build list to include (but not be limited to):

• Entrances (pier, VIP and general admission)
• Art installations (a minimum of two within layout)
• Food court areas
• Main performance stage design
• VIP performance stage design
• VIP pier environment (lounges, demo installations and catering)
• Fun house (custom activation)
• Gaming tent design (interior)
• Deloitte hospitality tent design (interior)
• Viewing platform (with canopy)
• Lounge/food tent design (interior)
• Demo installation builds
• Perimeter fence branding
• Specialty catering/entertainment moments (consultation in layout)
• General event site layout

YOU SHOULD HAVE

1. Must have a Portfolio displaying work examples
2. 4+ years of proven, hands-on creative leadership as an art director or in an artistic profession
3. Passion for our craft
4. Freelance experience or corporate client relationship experience
5. Integrated marketing and event experience
6. Graphic Design experience
7. Experience working with Fortune 100 clients
8. Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
9. Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication and presentation skills
10. Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
11. Proven leadership and experience in cultivating teams
12. Experience coordinating activities with other artistic and creative individuals

HOW WE’LL TAKE CARE OF YOU

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting rate range for this role is between $80.00-95.00 per hour. Our rate ranges are based on third-party national average market compensation analysis. The actual rate is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The rate range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Physical Requirements:

Individuals will be required to sit for the majority of the day and will be required to stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. Individuals will be required to travel via airplane, train, taxi, car and/or other means of transportation as needed.
