Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking an experienced academic advisor for the Art Department to independently provide prescriptive advice on degree requirements and policies. You will monitor student progress, conduct information sessions, and assist with course approvals and scheduling for both graduate and undergraduate programs.

Under the general supervision of the Department Manager, you will handle major declaration workshops, articulation processing, and coordination with faculty to ensure timely

Responsibilities

• Academic Advising: assist students with progression and degree requirements.
• Advising on policies, petitions, and degree completion questions.
• Plan and review course scheduling for graduate and undergraduate programs.
• Provide information sessions and advise on curriculum changes.
• Process major declarations and articulation agreements.
• Manage AIS/Canon input and department communications.
• Collaborate with faculty on scheduling needs and student progression.
• Support advisors and staff with routine administrative tasks.
• Monitor student progress and refer to counseling as needed.
