Maya Gallery Santa Fe, a fine art gallery on the historic Santa Fe Plaza, seeks an Art Consultant for an on-site, full-time role in Santa Fe, NM. You will guide visitors through viewing, selecting, and acquiring fine art, presenting artists’ stories, and conducting personalized consultations.

You will also manage sales, inventory, and client records while supporting exhibition setup and events to maintain a welcoming gallery environment.

Qualifications

Knowledge and appreciation of art, painting styles, mediums, and techniques.
Art consulting and client-facing skills to tailor recommendations.
Retail or gallery sales experience; closing transactions and meeting sales objectives.
Ability to research artists, exhibitions, and market trends relevant to fine art.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for diverse visitors.
Organizational and time-management abilities; keeping records accurate.
Comfort working on-site in a gallery environment, standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

Guide clients through viewing and selecting artworks.
Present artwork and artists’ stories to visitors during consultations.
Conduct personalized consultations to match client taste and space.
Manage sales transactions and maintain accurate client records.
Maintain inventory and assist with gallery operations such as exhibitions and events.
Support exhibition setup, display adjustments, and opening events.
