Salt Lake Community College seeks a part-time Gallery & Art Assistant to help manage its extensive art collection across campuses. You will inventory works, enter data, perform basic photography, and assist with the setup and promotion of exhibitions.

The role emphasizes precision, professional communication, and collaboration with the Gallery & Art Collection Manager. Eligibility requires current SLCC enrollment and Federal Work Study qualification.

Qualifications

• Familiar with art handling and basic gallery practices.
• Ability to enter and manage data with accuracy.
• Experience with basic photography and image editing.

Responsibilities

• Assist Gallery & Art Collection Manager with the college's art collection (800+ artworks).
• Inventory artworks: measure, identify media, research missing info, database entry, basic photography/editing, file management.
• Support 13 gallery exhibitions yearly at South City campus; update store website, promote exhibitions, generate wall labels, assist with openings.
• Assist with installation of art exhibitions using track and cable hanging systems and security hardware.
• Maintain professionalism, precise record-keeping, and strong written/oral communication; work closely with the Gallery & Art Collection Manager.
