Salt Lake Community College is seeking a part-time student assistant to support the Gallery & Art Collection Manager with the college's permanent art collection across campuses and upcoming exhibitions.

The role emphasizes cataloging accuracy, inventory, basic photography, and social media promotion for 13 annual exhibitions. Work will be primarily at Redwood and South City campuses; SLCC student status and FWS eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Must be a current SLCC student and eligible for Federal Work Study.
• Ability to handle art safely and with care.
• Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with basic photography and photo editing.
• Familiarity with social media platforms.
• Reliable transportation preferred.
• GPA 2.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist Gallery & Art Collection Manager in overseeing the college's permanent art collection.
• Inventory artworks, identify media, research missing info, enter information into a database, basic photography, basic photo editing, file management.
• Support the implementation of 13 gallery exhibitions annually at South City campus: update gallery store website for new exhibits, promote exhibitions on social media and other websites, generate wall labels, help set up for and work opening receptions.
• Assist with installation of art exhibitions with track and cable hanging system and installation of collection art with security hardware and info placards.
