Job summary

Salt Lake Community College is seeking a current SLCC student eligible for Federal Work Study to join the Gallery & Art Collection team. A U.S. work authorization is required and applicants must reside in Utah.

You'll assist in overseeing the permanent collection across campuses, inventory artworks, support exhibitions, and help with installations and social media promotion. Work will primarily be at Redwood and South City campuses with regular coordination expected.

• Current SLCC Student.

Responsibilities

• Assist Gallery & Art Collection Manager in overseeing the college's permanent art collection across campuses.
• Inventory artworks: measure, identify media, research missing info, enter information into a database, basic photography, basic photo editing, file management.
• Support the implementation of 13 gallery exhibitions annually at South City campus: update gallery store website for new exhibits, promote exhibitions on social media and other websites, generate wall labels, help set up for and work opening receptions.
• Assist with installation of art exhibitions with track and cable hanging system and installation of collection art with security hardware and info placards.
• Professionalism is a must; be detail oriented in cataloging information and safe art handling; strong written and oral communication; cooperative attitude.
• Work will take place mostly at Redwood and South City campuses; good communication is necessary; independent transportation is a plus.
