Job summary

Powerhouse Arts, Inc. in Brooklyn seeks a Security and Safety Guard to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all people and activities on the premises. You will report to the Safety and Security Administrator and help protect assets and visitors.

Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring for hazards, managing access, and providing courteous assistance. Requirements include NYS Security Guard licensure and relevant training certificates.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a NYS Security Guard license.
• Must have valid NYS 8 and 16 Hour Training Certificates.
• Must complete 8 Hour Annual In-Service Course each year.
• Fireguard Certification of Fitness preferred; must obtain within 90 days if not certified.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies promptly and efficiently.
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure security and safety.
• Observe and report irregularities; notify Safety and Security Administrator.
• Ensure exits and extinguishers are clear and accessible.
• Maintain posts until relieved by supervision.
• Stay updated on security protocols and regulations.
