Job summary

CAMBA Gardens in Brooklyn is seeking a part-time Security Guard to protect CAMBA facilities and residents. The role reports to the Senior Program Director and requires possession of a NYS Security Guard license.

Responsibilities include monitoring doors and cameras, patrolling sites, reporting incidents, completing logs, and coordinating with supervision to maintain safety. The position offers a stable part-time schedule with required certifications and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must hold a NYS Security Guard license and register as required.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math to carry out duties.
• Complete annual trainings and certifications within required timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure the security and fire safety of the entire facility.
• Employ crisis prevention/intervention and crisis management skills when conflict occurs.
• Patrol buildings and grounds of CAMBA facilities.
• Examine doors, windows, gates and fire exits for security and regulatory compliance.
• Observe and report irregularities such as unusual tenant behavior, trespassers, fire hazards, or security gaps.
• Monitor tenants and facility via security camera systems.
• Conduct fire safety patrol and report findings to supervisory personnel.
• Conduct security screenings of tenants and visitors entering the facility.
• Issue commendations to reinforce positive tenant behaviors and rule compliance.
• Counsel tenants that violate rules and complete infraction reports.
• Observe departing individuals to guard CAMBA property.
• Document in security logs and incident reports any property damage or incidents.
• Maintain assigned equipment per shift and sign in/out.
• Provide information for routine reports as required.
