Job summary

The Vanderbilt YMCA is seeking an Activity Specialist. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Activity Specialist will provide age-appropriate Art instruction for school-aged children in the Y Afterschool program, including Holiday Camps, in a safe, positive environment.

You will design and deliver a comprehensive art curriculum, lead hands-on activities, assess progress, and help prepare an end-of-cycle art showcase.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college credits preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in art programming.
• Direct experience with children under 13.
• Content expert in the designated subject matter.
• MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design a comprehensive art curriculum with lesson plans and measurable goals.
• Plan, facilitate, and supervise art-based activities with a safe environment.
• Support materials procurement and equipment needs for art projects.
• Prepare participants for end-of-cycle art show and exhibit pieces.
