Job summary

Jackson State Community College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor in Art to deliver instruction using integrative technologies. The position supports on-ground, evening, off-campus, and distance courses with standard grading and reporting duties.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Art or related field with 18 graduate credits in Art, plus collegiate teaching experience. Availability to teach in person during the day at multiple jackson locations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Art or a related field with at least eighteen (18) credit hours in graduate level Art from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses on ground as assigned, including evening, off-campus, and distance-based formats.
• Post grades during the term and submit final grades by Registrar deadlines.
• Complete required trainings and reports (attendance, alerts, progress reports, grade submissions); advise Chair or Dean if unable to teach.
• Check JSCC email and departmental mailbox; respond within 48 hours (except weekends).
• Submit or update class syllabus at least 2 weeks before class start or within seven days of contract execution.
