The Insurance Department of the State of Georgia is seeking a Criminal Investigator I - Arson for the Southwest region. The role conducts investigations into arson-related violations, collaborates with other authorities, and prepares detailed findings for prosecution or reporting.

Ideal candidates hold a related bachelor's degree and POS T certification, with experience in law enforcement; driving license requirements may apply.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of experience in law enforcement or related field AND P.O.S.T. certification. Note: some positions may require a valid Class C driver's license.

Responsabilidades

• Under supervision, the Criminal Investigator (Arson) investigates alleged or suspected violations of federal, state, or local laws, rules and regulations to determine if evidence is sufficient to recommend prosecution or to report findings to the appropriate jurisdictional authority.
• Collaborates with other authorities on activities such as surveillance, transcription, and research.
• Conducts background investigations.
• Conducts internal investigations of law enforcement agencies.
• Examine records to locate links in chain of evidence or information.
• Obtains and verifies evidence by interviewing and observing suspects and witnesses by analyzing records.
• Obtains information related to cases.
• Prepare reports that detail investigation findings.
• Identifies case issues and evidence needed.
• Utilizes proper software programs to store, collate and review financial information and evidence.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
