Job summary

Akima in Fort Drum, NY is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to manage inbound and outbound Army equipment and materiel at a contractor-managed site. You will verify documentation, update Army systems, and coordinate with transportation teams to ensure accurate, timely turn-ins and ship-outs.

The role requires 2–4 years in shipping/logistics, a High School diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain necessary clearances. OSHA safety practices and MHE operation are part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years of shipping, receiving, or supply experience.
• Familiarity with Army supply/transportation documentation and systems highly desirable.
• Proficiency operating forklifts and other MHE.
• Must be able to obtain CAC and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify inbound equipment per AR 710-2 and related docs.
• Match items to turn-in documentation for accuracy.
• Update logistics systems to reflect receipt transactions.
• Stage and transfer items to warehouse locations.
• Prepare outbound shipments of Army equipment for transfer or disposal.
• Coordinate with transportation teams for scheduling and dispatch of shipments.
• Maintain logs of all inbound/outbound shipments.
• Follow safety procedures during loading/unloading.
