Brief Description

As a Mental Health Practitioner, Clinical Trainee, or Mental Health Professional in Nystrom & Associates Community Based division, you’ll work in our ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) program. Mental Health Practitioners provide community-based rehabilitative services to clients ages 18+. This is a great opportunity to work with clients in their homes, where they are most comfortable.

Nystrom & Associates is a group of professional care providers from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, marriage and family therapy, clinical social work, addiction treatment, and nursing who are committed to helping individuals and families experiencing personal, emotional, marital, or psychological challenges. We are dedicated to helping!

The purpose of the programs is to help individuals with mental illness function independently in their homes or residences. Services are provided in four areas: Basic Living and Social Skills, Community Intervention, Medication Education, and Transitioning to Community Living. We seek a compassionate individual eager to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives.

In This Role, You’ll Have The Opportunity To

  • Provide culturally responsive mental health skills to clients and/or their families (if working with children) in the home, community, and/or school
  • Assist clients in identifying goals for functional improvement and work with them to meet their goals
  • Design and implement treatment/intervention plans in-home tailored to client needs
  • Receive clinical supervision from qualified staff and pursue continuing education units
  • Participate in Nystrom & Associates’ Professional Development Track, which offers early career therapists the opportunity to work as an Outpatient Therapist after 9 months of community-based service experience, with a focus on continuing education and career advancement

Requirements

To qualify, you must meet at least one of the following:

  • Meet Mental Health Practitioner requirements per MN State Statute 245I.04.04, including holding a Master’s or graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields, or a Bachelor’s degree with 2,000 hours supervised experience, or 4,000 hours supervised experience
  • Meet Clinical Trainee requirements per MN State Statute 245I.04.06, having completed an accredited graduate program
  • Meet Mental Health Professional requirements per MN State Statute 245I.04.02, being licensed as LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LP in Minnesota

Additional Requirements

  • Interest in working with children, families, and/or adults in their homes, including physical mobility capabilities
  • Ability to work independently, with a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle; ability to travel within a 30-mile radius
  • Proficiency in computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Availability to meet with adults during daytime hours if working with this population
