East African Healing Services (EAHS) is a non-profit organization comprised of African, mainstream, and other refugee and immigrant human service providers. Certified by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, EAHS offers Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS). Our primary goal is to assist individuals and families with mental and behavioral health issues by providing support and resources to aid healing and recovery. We are passionate about helping others and believe everyone deserves a healthy and happy life.

Position Purpose

Multiple positions are available for the Adults and Children programs. The role involves providing outpatient therapy to individuals and families, teaching valuable skills, and offering necessary support. The ideal candidate should have experience in health and human services, with knowledge of ARMHS and CTSS services.

Essential Duties
  1. Under supervision, update assessments, summaries, and treatment plans for clients.
  2. Provide community intervention with families, agencies, and providers.
  3. Develop and monitor crisis prevention plans.
  4. Deliver mental health rehabilitative interventions, focusing on basic living and social skills, meeting clients face-to-face twice weekly.
  5. Document all services in the required language and within deadlines.
  6. Proficiently use Procentive Electronic Health Records for documentation.
  7. Participate in supervision and staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or a related field from an accredited institution.
  2. At least 2000 hours of documented face-to-face client interaction.
  3. Respectful and sensitive to family and cultural issues.
  4. Experience working with refugees or recent immigrants.
  5. Strong English communication skills, oral and written.
  6. Ability to work independently and in a team.
  7. Computer literacy, including word processing software.
  8. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Additional Information

Submitting all documentation on time may result in a 15% increase in bi-monthly pay. Salary is determined by experience and performance. The work environment is a small office setting at Golden Valley and the community, with duties during weekday hours and occasional evenings or weekends.
