The role requires 2+ years in law enforcement or related fields, an armed guard license, and a high school diploma. Work schedule includes evening shifts with potential for additional shifts and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors; follow site policies and emergency procedures.
• Regular armed patrols of facilities and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and monitor activity in restricted areas.
• Complete incident and patrol reports accurately and promptly.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a utility location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, equipment yards, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, and maintain awareness of personnel and vehicle activity entering or leaving restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and promptly communicate concerns through designated channels.
• Maintain required armed‑post qualifications, follow applicable laws and site procedures for assigned equipment, and complete accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports.
