Qualifications

• Armed guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Drug screening will be conducted where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a government corrections environment.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations, reporting unusual conditions and security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and document entry and exit of authorized personnel, visitors, and vehicles in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following post orders and applicable policies.
• Prepare accurate reports and activity logs, communicate observations to site leadership and appropriate personnel, and assist with emergency response coordination when appropriate.
