Job summary

Allied Universal® is looking for an Armed Vehicle Patrol Driver in Elizabeth City, NC to protect government facilities and support a safe environment. You will perform vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence, and respond to security concerns with professionalism while upholding Allied Universal’s values.

The role requires an Armed Guard Card or license, at least 6 months of armed security experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by following security procedures and site policies in a government corrections environment.

• Monitor restricted access points, verify credentials, and report suspicious activity or policy violations.
• Document patrols and incidents accurately and maintain professional communication with staff and visitors.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections environment.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately and promptly, maintaining professional communication with staff, visitors, and other authorized individuals.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
