Job summary

GSG Protective Services is seeking an Armed Security Officer in Los Angeles, CA to protect people, property, and critical assets at transit hubs and high-visibility facilities. You will conduct patrols, monitor activity, de-escalate when needed, and coordinate with transit staff and law enforcement.

A minimum of 5 years of armed security experience, plus a valid license and firearms qualification, are required.

• Must pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide armed security presence at assigned public and critical infrastructure sites.
• Conduct foot and mobile patrols, monitor activity, and identify threats.
• Assist the public with directions and information in a courteous manner.
• Respond to incidents and de-escalate when possible.
• Enforce site rules consistently and coordinate with law enforcement and staff.
• Write clear incident reports and daily activity logs.

Position Overview

As an Armed Security Officer, you'll protect people, property, and critical assets at high-traffic, high-visibility sites such as bus stations, metro and transit facilities, public parks, and critical infrastructure. You'll be the first point of contact for the public, so professionalism, sound judgment, and a calm, approachable presence are essential

Responsibilities

• Provide armed security presence at assigned public and critical infrastructure sites
• Conduct foot and mobile patrols, monitor activity, and identify potential threats
• Assist members of the public with directions, information, and concerns in a courteous, helpful manner
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and calls for service, and de-escalate situations whenever possible
• Enforce site rules and policies consistently and fairly
• Coordinate with law enforcement, transit staff, and site management as needed
• Write clear, accurate incident reports and daily activity logs

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of armed security experience
• Experience in high-profile, customer-facing assignments such as bus stations, parks, metro/transit facilities, or critical infrastructure
• Valid state armed security license and firearms qualification
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
• Able to pass a background check and drug screen
• Valid driver's license

Preferred

• Military experience
• De-escalation, first aid/CPR, or other advanced security training
