Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer Shopping Center in Austin, TX to protect clients across Retail/Malls. You will conduct armed patrols, deter theft, respond to emergencies, and maintain a strong customer-facing presence in a dynamic retail environment.

This role requires a Level III Armed Certification in Texas, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work a schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, military, or 5+ years armed security experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Level III Armed Certification in Texas required.
• Be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required and drug screening.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to store employees, customers, and visitors by carrying out armed security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location to deter theft and other unwanted activity.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and employee activity, and report suspicious behavior to management.
• Document incidents, patrols, and daily activities; coordinate with store management and law enforcement as needed.

As a Armed Security Officer Shopping Center - Full Time in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a retail location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide exceptional customer service. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license and Level III Armed Certification. Pay Rate: $26.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 02:45 PM - 11:30 PM
• Fri: 12:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Sat: 12:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Sun: 06:00 AM - 02:45 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to store employees, customers, and visitors by carrying out armed security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and applicable laws.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, receiving areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas, to help deter theft, trespassing, and other unwanted activity.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and employee activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, patrols, and daily activities accurately; coordinate with store management, Allied Universal leadership, and law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, corrections, military, or 5 or more years of armed security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
