Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer for a Shipyard location in San Diego, CA. You will patrol facilities, respond to incidents, and deter security risks while maintaining professional client service.

Position is full-time with a $25.00 hourly pay rate. Requirements include TSA TWIC, armed guard card, and a high school diploma. A background check and drug screen are part of the hiring process.

Qualifications

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Customer service experience preferred.

• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace/defense site.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of facilities, restricted areas, and parking areas.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel and vehicles.
• Prepare clear reports of patrol activities and incidents.

As an Armed Security Officer supporting an aerospace and defense location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. Job Schedule:

• Tue: 05:00 AM - 01:30 PM
• Wed: 05:00 AM - 01:30 PM
• Thur: 05:00 AM - 01:30 PM
• Fri: 05:00 AM - 01:30 PM
• Sat: 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access‑control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, restricted areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, deliveries, and/or vehicles entering controlled areas in accordance with site requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrol activities, incidents, observations, and security‑related policy violations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Possess a TSA‑issued TWIC.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
