Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer for a part-time route coverage role in Las Vegas, NV. You will patrol government locations, deter incidents, and provide professional customer service while enforcing site policies and safety procedures.

The position offers flexible day-time schedules (Mon-Fri and some weekends) and requires an armed guard card, at least 1 year of armed/security experience, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation as required by law.
• Subjects to a drug screen as permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Perform armed patrols of assigned buildings, courtyards, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and report security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
