• Provide customer service to library patrons, visitors, and staff while carrying out security-related procedures and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of library buildings, parking areas, and surrounding grounds.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction and reporting of suspicious activity.
• Carry authorized equipment, including a firearm, in accordance with laws and Allied Universal policies.

As a Armed Security Officer - Patrol Part Time in Las Vegas, NV, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeWed12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to library patrons, visitors, and staff while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of library buildings, parking areas, surrounding grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, rule enforcement, and the reporting of suspicious activity or maintenance concerns.
• Carry authorized equipment, including a firearm, in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, training, and Allied Universal policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of armed security‑related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
