Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Armed Security Officer in Austin, TX. The role offers fixed shifts with optional extra shifts through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program, designed to provide reliable hours and opportunities to increase earnings.

The pay rate is $30.90 per hour, with a six-month anchor shift commitment at a designated site. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of security or related experience, an Armed Guard Card, and at least a high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and/or property management personnel by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of commercial real estate buildings, parking areas, common spaces, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor, contractor, and vendor access in accordance with property procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and communication with Allied Universal leadership and property representatives.

As a Armed Security Officer Part Time Patrol Assessment in Austin, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $30.90 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Fri 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security‑related experience, or a college degree.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
• Possess 5+ years of security-related experience.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
