Allied Universal in Austin, TX, is seeking an Armed Security Officer for a part-time enhanced schedule. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform to increase earnings.

You will protect customers, employees, and visitors at a retail grocery site, maintaining safety and order. Candidates must have 3+ years in security or related fields or 5+ years armed security, Texas Level III Armed Certification, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or 5 years armed security experience.
• Level III Armed Certification in Texas required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security procedures at a retail grocery location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other events calmly and report/escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of store, parking, entrances, and surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe for unusual conditions or loss-prevention concerns; report observations.
• Maintain daily activity and incident reports and manage equipment per site procedures.

Pay Rate: $26.50 / Hour

Job Schedule

• Mon: 04:15 PM - 11:30 PM
• Sat: 04:15 PM - 11:30 PM
• Sun: 04:15 PM - 11:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to customers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail grocery location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the store, parking areas, loading zones, entrances, exits, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity for unusual conditions, policy violations, or potential loss‑prevention concerns; report observations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain required documentation, including daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs, while handling assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security‑related experience.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
