Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer at a medical facility front desk in Bethpage, NY. You will manage access, greet visitors, monitor security systems, and respond to incidents to protect students, staff, and campus guests.

The role requires law enforcement or security experience, NY guard license, and an armed card. The schedule is Monday–Friday (2:00 PM–9:00 PM) with a $45/hour pay rate and full-time status.

Qualifications

• New York State Security Guard License is required.
• 1+ years of law enforcement experience OR 2+ years of security supervisor/manager experience OR 3+ years of security experience.
• Armed Guard Card/License is required.
• Must be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted as a condition of employment.
• Criminal histories will be considered in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required as a condition of employment.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

• Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols at a higher education location.
• Staff the front desk, greet and direct visitors, verify access credentials, and maintain visitor logs and related documentation.
• Monitor access points, cameras, alarms, and communication systems; report unusual activity and security concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, questions, and critical situations calmly and professionally according to emergency procedures.
• Maintain a professional presence to deter unauthorized access and assist campus community members.

What You'll Do:

• Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols at a higher education location.

• Maintain a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized access while providing information, assistance, and directions to members of the campus community.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess 1+ years of law enforcement experience OR 2+ years of security supervisor/manager experience OR 3+ years of security experience.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
