Job summary

Allied Universal in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Armed Access Control to protect patients, staff, and visitors. You'll patrol, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professionalism and integrity.

This role requires a valid concealed carry permit, strong customer service, and the ability to work evenings Monday through Friday. We offer training, benefits, and opportunities to grow within a national leader in security services.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid concealed carry weapons permit.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, access control, and delivery verification in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain proficiency with authorized equipment and perform assigned duties in compliance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal policies.
