• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a shelter environment.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and maintain awareness of resident and visitor activity in accordance with site‑specific requirements.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation, and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements

• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Must have at least 3 years of either military, law enforcement, corrections or armed security experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
