Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring an Armed Security Officer for Federal Protective Services in Washington, D.C. The role involves armed patrols, access control, CCTV monitoring, and incident reporting to protect people and property.

Requirements include 3 years of armed security or related military service, ability to obtain DHS suitability, and a DHS clearance process that may take up to 60 days. Site pay starts at $33/hr upon suitability and training completion; paid training is $25.00/hr.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current driver’s license if driving a company or customer owned vehicle.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification from AHA or ARC required.
• Federal and state firearms qualifications required.
• NWDTP certification required.
• OC, Baton and handcuffing certifications required.
• Defensive tactics and de-escalation certifications required.
• Two years of armed security experience OR two years of US military service OR one year of armed civilian law enforcement experience.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide armed protective services per Allied Universal standards.
• Conduct armed patrols, access control, CCTV and alarm monitoring.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain client relationships.
• Respond to emergencies and enforce security procedures.
• Follow site-specific post orders and manuals.
• Greet visitors and assist staff as needed.
• Patrol facilities on foot or by vehicle.
• Operate radios and CCTV/alarms systems.
