Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an armed Security Officer for a high-profile Federal Protective Service role in Washington, DC. The position requires a Secret clearance, recent armed security/military experience, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Responsibilities include armed patrols, access control, CCTV/alarms monitoring and incident reporting. Training and development opportunities are offered in a dynamic, mission-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current driver’s license if driving a company or customer owned vehicle.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required before employment.
• Must possess or be able to obtain: CPR/AED and First Aid; firearms qualifications; NWDTP certification; OC, Baton and handcuffing certification; defensive tactics and de-escalation certification.
• Two years of armed security experience or two years of US military service or one year of armed civilian law enforcement experience.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Able to operate radio/console monitors and greet/assist visitors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality security services to protect people and property.
• Build, maintain and improve relationships with client employees and guests.
• Report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual events verbally and in writing.
• Handle security issues and emergencies following protocol.
• Follow site-specific directives and post orders.
• Greet visitors and employees; answer questions and assist as needed.
• Patrol the facility on foot or by vehicle.
• Monitor phones, CCTV systems and alarms.
