Job summary

GardaWorld Federal Services seeks an Armed Security Guard to provide high-level security at a USCIS facility. You will maintain a visible presence, control access, screen visitors, and respond to incidents as part of a two-person team.

Requirements include U.S. citizenship, at least 2 years of armed security experience, a registered handgun, and active security and firearms licenses. The role emphasizes strict compliance with federal contract requirements and ASC procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.
• Minimum of two (2) years of armed security experience from military, law enforcement, or commercial armed guard background.
• Must own and possess a registered 9mm semiautomatic pistol or .45 ACP handgun.
• Must possess and maintain an active State Security Guard License for the state of the assigned post.
• Must possess and maintain an active State Firearms License for the state of the assigned post.
• Must maintain current firearm qualifications, first-aid/CPR certifications, and complete annual use-of-force training and de-escalation training.
• Experience with operation and maintenance of walk-through magnetometers and hand-held detectors.
• Must stand and patrol for extended periods and perform physically demanding duties.
• Must pass USCIS suitability screening and background checks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and interaction with the public.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform continuous access control duties, including screening visitors and personnel using walk-through magnetometers and hand-held detection wands.
• Conduct regular facility checks, monitor surveillance systems, and ensure the security and integrity of the USCIS site.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms per post orders and emergency plans.
• Document all activities, incidents, and security breaches in daily and incident reports.
• Provide professional service while enforcing security protocols for all personnel and visitors.
• Maintain proficiency in setup, calibration, and operation of all assigned security equipment.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and site Post Orders.
• Collaborate with the partner guard and communicate with the Regional Security Manager on operational issues.
