Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to join our Las Vegas team. This role offers flexible hours and the potential to pick up extra shifts, with a pay rate of $21.00 per hour.

Work schedule includes Mon and Tue shifts from 10:15 AM to 08:15 PM, with anchor shifts and the option to grow toward full-time hours. The position requires armed security experience, an armed guard card/license, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a Security Officer Armed Enhanced - Public Library - Part Time in Las Vegas, NV, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 10:15 AM - 08:15 PM
• Tue: 10:15 AM - 08:15 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patrons, visitors, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout library facilities, public areas, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity within the location, reporting hazards, policy violations, and unusual conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain required documentation, including patrol activity, incident reports, and daily observations, in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of armed security‑related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
