• Maintain possession and proper handling of assigned equipment, including firearms, per policies and law and site procedures.

As an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a public library setting, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to staff and visitors. You will respond to security-related concerns while upholding Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity. This armed position requires an Armed Guard Card/License.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patrons, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of library facilities, parking areas, public spaces, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and report concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel or emergency services.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, documenting incidents and completing accurate reports as required.
• Maintain possession and responsible handling of assigned equipment, including authorized firearms, in accordance with Allied Universal policies, site procedures, and applicable laws.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
