The position is full-time with a daytime schedule and requires valid NY security licenses, background check, and compliance with post orders for armed assignments.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including situations involving access control, disruptive behavior, and medical or fire-related emergencies.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, documenting observations and incidents through required reporting channels.
• Maintain professional communication with site personnel and emergency responders while following applicable laws, policies, and post orders for armed assignments.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
