Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer Access Control Clearance Eligible in Palmdale, CA to protect clients in aerospace/defense environments. This part-time role emphasizes customer service, patrols, credential verification, and calm incident response.

You will report patrols and incidents and may participate in training and shift flexibility through our Claim a Shift platform. Applicants must meet state licensing and background requirements and be at least 21.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years combined law enforcement, military, or security experience or a college degree.
• Valid armed guard card/license.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• At least 5 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as per law.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors while following site procedures.
• Conduct armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and restricted-area entry requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations with coordination with site contacts and responders.

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 11:00 AM - 05:00 PM
• Tue: 11:00 AM - 05:00 PM
• Wed: 11:00 AM - 05:00 PM
• Fri: 05:00 AM - 01:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors while following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response protocols at an aerospace and defense location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter boundaries to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain awareness of restricted-area entry requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders as appropriate.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, access-related activity, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess at least 5 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
