The Role: Armed Security Officer

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of experience as a security officer or previous law enforcement experience
• Graduate of a municipal, state, or federal law enforcement agency
• Active or retired member in good standing from the aforementioned law enforcement agencies

License Requirements:

• Serve Safe Certification
• Ability to obtain licensure from the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations and pass a background check
• Rhode Island Pistol Permit

Responsibilities:

• Respond to incidents including accidents, emergencies, medical aids, and requests for assistance
• Guard and escort monies within the facility and safeguard nightly deposits from VLT machines
• Maintain visibility at strategic locations to deter incidents and assist guests
• Possess knowledge of all Twin River Casino facilities
• Assist guests with information and services or direct them appropriately
• Check identification for compliance with Rhode Island law
• Prepare security reports, communicate with guests and agencies, and assist in investigations
• Provide security for events and tournaments
• Escort guests, employees, and outside agencies; transport injured personnel and assist disabled guests
• Patrol parking lots, valet, and exterior areas
• Respond swiftly to emergencies such as injuries, fires, fights, thefts, and arrests
• Report hazardous conditions
• Assist law enforcement agencies as needed
• Monitor entrances, gaming floors, and bars for security and alcohol control
• Manage physical access control and issue visitor badges
• Detain or eject individuals violating policies or presenting dangers

Physical/Mental Requirements:

• Stand, walk, climb, carry, hear, bend, and stoop constantly
• Follow directions, pay attention to detail, and use manual dexterity regularly
• Use eye/hand coordination frequently

Working Conditions:

• Work in varied environments that may be hot, cold, noisy, wet, dry, smoky, or dusty
• Rotating shifts
• Occasional exposure to dirt
• Moderate to loud noise levels

Starting rate: $25.75 per hour

Licenses & Certifications:

RI Lottery License Ops (preferred)
