SCOPE: Armed Security Officers protect the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees, tenants, and visitors against criminal activity, accidents, and fires.

Schedule

• 1st Shift (8:00AM-4:00PM) Monday - Friday
• Seasonal school schedule
• 30-39 hours per week

LOCATION: Dowagiac, Michigan

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities may vary depending on the site, including:

• Access Control - Ensure only authorized individuals access the site.
• Camera Monitoring - Monitor CCTV for safety and security concerns.
• Foot Patrol - Walk interior and exterior of buildings, observing security, safety, or maintenance issues.
• Mobile Patrol - Patrol parking lots, roads, building exteriors, and remote locations in a security vehicle.

SUCCESS as a Security Officer at DK Security will look like:

• Reliability - Report on time, presentable, in uniform.
• Friendly Personality - Balance customer service with policy enforcement.
• Following Policies - Read and interpret post guidelines, follow procedures, complete tasks.
• Use of De-escalation Techniques - Defuse situations verbally and through communication tactics.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Valid Concealed Pistol License required.
• High school diploma or GED (some college preferred).
• Impeccable grooming and appearance.
• Professional image with clients, employees, and the public.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel.
• Valid Michigan Concealed Pistol License or LEOSA credential.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean record (specified violations).
• Willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED Certified.
• Experience in law enforcement, military, or armed security preferred.
• Flexible availability and willingness to work on short notice.

Education and Certification Requirements

High School Diploma or GED; Michigan CPL; LEOSA Credential.
