Protos Security seeks an Armed Security Guard for a part-time position in California. The role maintains a visible security presence, conducts foot patrols, deters theft, and supports store staff to protect people and property.

Schedule: Fri/Sat 14:30–23:00, Sun 10:00–18:30. Pay: $35.00 per hour. BSIS Guard Card, high school diploma or GED, and weekend availability required. Indoors, fast-paced retail setting with customer service as needed.

• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high-visibility presence throughout retail areas to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity.
• Conduct routine foot patrols inside and around the store or shopping center to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
• Respond to incidents involving theft, trespassing, or disturbances in a professional and appropriate manner.
• Communicate regularly with store employees, property management, and other on-site personnel to exchange updates and receive direction.
• Support loss prevention efforts by observing shoppers and reporting suspected shoplifting to appropriate personnel.
• Provide customer service as needed, including offering directions or answering basic inquiries while maintaining security priorities.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation.

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a professional and observant Retail Security Officer to maintain a visible security presence and support a safe shopping environment. This position involves active foot patrols, theft deterrence, and collaboration with store staff and property management to ensure the protection of people, property, and merchandise.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours).
• Ability to move quickly in response to incidents.
• May be required to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.

Work Environment

• Work performed primarily indoors in a busy retail or shopping environment.
• Interaction with the general public, store employees, and security team members is frequent.
• Must maintain a professional demeanor in high-traffic, high-pressure situations.
