Job summary

IDS International is hiring a full-time Armed Security Guard to support our contract overseeing the Truman Presidential Library in Independence, Missouri. You will patrol, monitor CCTV, secure access points, and assist with VIP events under the supervision of the Program Manager.

The role requires US citizenship, 21+ years of age, firearms proficiency, and at least three years in security or related fields. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to pass physicals are also required.

Qualifications

• Be a citizen of the United States AND be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass all pre-employment physicals and testing as the job requires standing for extended periods of time.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of military, security or law enforcement experience within the last 5 years.
• Proficient with firearms and pass a firearms qualification course.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of visibility at all times and surveil visitors in the Library and Museum for suspicious activities.
• Patrol the interior and exterior of the facility, as well as monitor a closed-circuit television feed to prevent unauthorized access and limit other incidents.
• Secure and monitor access points during hours of operation, search bags as needed and monitor visitors throughout the facility.
• Guards will register guests into the research room and ensure rules and protocols are followed.
• When required, detain violators and prepare detailed incident reports.
• Attend and provide security during special events and VIP visits involving high profile government officials.

Shifts available

Night shift

Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds, but may vary depending on the position. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
