Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol in Washington, DC. The role provides reliable fixed hours with the option to pick-up extra shifts. Pay rate is $34.87 per hour and an armed DC SPO license is required.

Responsibilities include guarding a government location, responding to incidents, patrolling, and credential verification. Must meet minimum requirements and be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma.

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned government buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious persons or activities.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident and patrol reports in accordance with site requirements.

As an Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Equipment Accountability in Washington, DC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public at a government location while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned government buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious persons, activities, and conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol activities, and other security‑related observations in accordance with site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or a baton is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
