Job summary

Appoquinimink School District seeks a highly experienced Constable to support safety across its campuses. Under direction of principal and district, you will lead safety plans, coordinate with administrators, and respond to crises to protect students and staff.

The role requires Delaware Constable certification, firearms qualification, and a long background in law enforcement, with commitment to ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must possess State of Delaware Constable Certification or be eligible for certification.
• Must successfully pass criminal background check and MMPI.
• Must obtain yearly Constable License from Delaware.
• Must obtain Constable Training Certification from Delaware.
• Must obtain a firearm carry license for Constable.

Responsibilities

• Follows directives of the Lead Constable, building, and District Administrators.
• Lead on the building/District comprehensive safety plans and respond to crises.
• Assist with fire drills, lockdown drills, and bomb threat responses.
• Direct, control or regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
• Monitor interior and exterior of the school and campus to ensure safety and security.
• Provide crowd control in hallways, parking lots, and common areas; intervene in disturbances.
