Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, North Carolina seeks a Public Safety Officer to protect people and property on site. You will respond to calls, intervene with potentially dangerous individuals, and coordinate with local agencies while maintaining calm, clear communication.

The role requires law enforcement certification and experience in security operations, including firearms proficiency and incident reporting. Schedule includes Monday through Friday with evening rotations.

Qualifications

• Must hold Basic Law Enforcement Training or equivalent certification.
• Governed by state Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards.
• Ability to obtain/maintain state General Law Enforcement Certification.

Responsibilities

• Intervenes with unruly or armed individuals to ensure safety.
• Apprehends and arrests individuals for criminal activity.
• Investigates criminal activity within jurisdiction and prepares cases.
• Responds to routine and emergency calls for assistance.
• Completes incident reports and required documentation.
• Serves as subject matter expert in criminal processes.
• Maintains calm, factual communication with involved parties.
• Coordinates with community police agencies as needed.
• Provides armed response to imminent threats on Advocate Health property.
