Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a security professional for high-risk environments in North Carolina. The role involves intervening with combative individuals, arresting when necessary, and conducting investigations within the department’s jurisdiction.

The position requires law enforcement certification, the ability to pass rigorous background checks, and performance under stressful conditions. A valid driver’s license and training in Taser/CPI/self-defense may be required.

Qualifications

• General law enforcement certification required/transferable
• Basic Law Enforcement Training completed or eligible
• Knowledge of federal, state and local criminal statutes and case law
• Ability to obtain and maintain state certification
• Ability to pass background check, polygraph and/or psychological testing
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving history
• Ability to perform under stressful, emergency conditions
• Taser, CPI and self-defense training certification may be required

Responsibilities

• Intervenes when unruly or dangerous individuals are encountered and assists with arrests
• Responds to routine and emergency calls for assistance
• Completes reports and documents related to incidents
• Provides subject matter expertise in criminal processes to teammates
• Communicates calmly and professionally with all parties
• Coordinates with community police agencies as appropriate
• Prepares criminal cases for court and testifies as required
